Pooler is a city that is located in Chatham County Georgia.

It has a population of just over 23,000 people and is bordered by the city of Port Wentworth to the north and the city of Garden City to the east.

During the American Civil War, Pooler was used as a meeting place for Union officers for the purpose of a peaceful surrender of the port city of Savannah.

Pooler Schools

The city of Pooler has two elementary schools, one middle school, and several private schools that are nearby.

Pooler Elementary School is Home of The Bulldogs which is the school’s mascot.

Parents are very active at the school and there are approximately 450 members of the PTA.

This advanced elementary school is focused on technology and has two computer labs with 200 computers. The school has its own TV station and is used as a PA system.

The other elementary school in the city of Pooler is West Chatham Elementary.

This K-5 school is also focused on technology and has a computer lab as well as a science lab.

The school’s motto is “Where Children are the heart and soul of our school”.

Pooler’s only public middle school is West Chatham Middle School.

This school is home to the Wild Cats and is focused on preparing students for a productive future.

For those students who excel academically, there is a gifted program that they can attend.

Parents are also very active in the school and the PTA holds regular meetings.

Pooler does not currently have a public high school but residents attend neighboring New Hampstead High School which is in the city of Bloomingdale.

Pooler Parks and Recreation

Pooler Georgia has a modern recreation department that is home to many different activities.

The main recreation department offers gymnastics, dance, tennis, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, and many more programs for the youth. The recreation department also has programs for adults.

Not only does Pooler have an amazing recreation department they also have several parks for you to enjoy.

One of the most popular parks in the area is the Tom Triplett Community Park.

This park features a beautiful pond that is home to ducks and other wildlife. There is also a walking path that is great for hiking and viewing wildlife.

In addition, this park has boat rentals and the pond has plenty of fish for you to catch. An RC car track is also located inside of the park which is always a fun way to spend the day.

The economy in Pooler is strong and growing. Over the years, the city has attracted several large companies which now call this area of Georgia home.

One of those companies is the equipment manufacturer JCB. This company is known worldwide for their quality equipment and products.

While the summer is hot, the ocean is nearby and a great place to cool off. Pooler sees a significant amount of rain during the spring and summer months.

Residents can expect rain during the warmer months which helps cool off the city. The air quality in the city is great and well above the national standards of safety.
